Almost everyone books July and August, and almost everyone pays a large premium for heat and crowds. The Mediterranean season is far longer than the school holidays.
May and June
Everything opens, water warms through June, prices sit well below peak. June is arguably the single best month on the whole coast.
July and August
Peak everything — heat, crowds, rates. Book months ahead or avoid entirely.
September and October
The insider months. The sea is at its warmest after a summer of sun, clubs still run, and rates fall sharply after the first week of September.
The winter coasts
When the Med closes, Cabo and Miami open. Their season runs November to April, which is why both sit on this list.
